I use http://www.tripadvisor.com/ to evaluate the potential sites. I think all inclusives are really great if you plan on staying at one particular place for the whole visit and that place has all you want to do. We did all inclusives in Grenada and Antigua and they were fantastic. We found everything we wanted as far as room, food, drinks, beach, etc. right at the hotel and did very little away from the hotel. If you like to go to different restaurants, etc. look at a regular package. I think it varies per person. Personally I don't like AI's because I feel they discourage people from enjoying and partaking in activities outside of the resort, and contributing to the local economy. When I travel to other places I like to meet the locals and hang out at the local spots, and AI's just feel too restrictive to me.
