Do you tip servers on an all-inclusive dinner cruise?

I bought dinner boat cruise in downtown Chicago as a gift for a couple that I am good friends with. Money is somewhat tight for them, so I wanted to cover 100% of the costs. I was charged 18% for ‘Service Charges’ along with a bunch of other taxes & fees when i made the reservation. Can I assume that covers gratuity? (They say nothing about it on the website)

The 18% is the tip, you can add more if you like. If you experienced a problem and wish to tip less, you can ask them to remove it. I wouldn’t ask to remove it unless there was something seriously wrong with the service that you should be talking to the manager.

If the trip is "all inclusive" that includes tip. At some hotels they are not even allowed to accept tips. They don’t have to tip unless they want to for exceptional service.

They would still expect a tip – whether or not you do is up to you and what you think of their service.
