I want to get married… question about a cruise.?
Me and my fiance are wanting to get married on 10/10/10. That is a Sunday, we are so excited. We have been together for 5 years ago and he purposed on December 23rd 2009, our anniversary. We have talked about getting married for about 2 years now and we have always said that we wanted to get away for the wedding.honeymoon. We have decided about a year ago that we want to get married on a cruise and have our honeymoon while we are on the ship. Does anybody know any good deals on cruises? I have checked out a couple of things online but I cannot really figure out whats a scam and whats not. I did find out about the Caribbean Cruise liner ship, that you can get married on that but I cannot find anything out about the date. 10/10/10 is the date that we absolutely want. Perfect 10 on our engagement, perfect 10 on our marriage and a perfect 10 on our life together. Its may sound korney but we love it. We are so excited but we need a little help on finding a good website or something that will lead us to more information on our wedding and honeymoon. If anybody can help, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!
God Bless,
Kristin
First, let me preface all I’m about to say with the statement that your wedding is for you and your husband, and you should do what YOU both want, regardless of what anyone else says,
That said, do realize that getting married in the middle of a cruise will seriously, seriously limit your guest list, probably not much more than parents and siblings. If you want 250 of your extended family and friends to attend – it won’t happen if their price of admission is $1000/head. If you want a big wedding, stick with a ceremony in your hometown and a go on a cruise for the honeymoon.
There are also options where you can have the wedding on the ship before you ever leave (and guests can then go on a cruise or leave) that could work.
If a small wedding is OK with you – then don’t worry about it.
As far as "which" cruise line, any of the majors (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America, Carnival, Princess, Norwegian, etc) are well versed in both groups and weddings. Stick with one of those, you won’t go wrong. Pick based off price and itinerary (ports you want to visit). All of their websites have considerable info. I’m personally partial to Royal Caribbean and Norwegian.

We have been on 15 cruises, and have seen couples dressed in wedding garb, which tells me they had their ceremony on the cruise. I think your best source would be a travel agent, as they can give you the comparison of the different cruise lines that accommodate you. Congratulations!!

You need to find out if a cruise lines up with your wedding day plans. I do not know where you live but quite a few of this ships sail on Saturday or Sunday. The ones in my city do, and they usually leave in the late afternoon. If you are having your wedding reception on a Sunday there might not be anything that suits your schedule. If you look on sites such as Orbitz or Expedia, the chances of anything being a scam are slim to none. Those sites are pretty good with things like that. They don’t exactly like it if their customers are not satisfied so if you book something with them you should be safe. I think you should research this a little bit. You obviously have time but chaeck out what the sailing days are and see if they line up with what you want to do. Good luck and much happiness.

I am getting married on a cruise ship, on Carnival. I like them because they are just a fun cruise line. Carnival cruise lines lets you get married either at port in the US or on an island. I am doing the port one as guests can leave before the ship sails, so more will attend and less will stick around for the honeymoon!! The cost isn’t too bad, less than $8k total for the deluxe package with about 50 guests. They do a cake, decor, open bar, snacks, etc. They also have a wedding hot line to call for questions and some stuff on their site.

They have some leaving Oct 10, 2010.

Lastly I would make an account on CruiseCritic.com, they have good info on cruises and cruise weddings.
