What are the best deals or places for a cruise and stay vacation?
My girlfriend and I are looking to take a week vacation in the bahamas or caribbean and we want the expierence of both a cruise and an island stay. We plan on going in a year from now but that may change based on when the best time to go is. We will both be 23 at the time of our trip. Any information or help is appreciated.
Because of your age, don’t bother looking at Carnival as their rules state that one person must be 25 or older in your cabin. Now about the Bahamas, most all cruise do NOT stay for more then a day at one port. You can not get off the boat and stay in the Bahamas without a huge fine, unless you can find a cruise that say starts in the USA and ends in the Bahamas(I don’t know of any) you will have to come back to the ship at the end of the day and then sail to the next port. Cruising is not about going to one place and then staying, but it is about going to many different places. I suggest you check with a travel agent to see if there are any cruises that do what you want, but I just don’t know of any.

You may wish to consult with a travel agent, if you’re wanting to implement both a cruise, AND a stay in the same week.
If you and your girlfriend have weekends off, this gives you more flexibility.
I’m not sure if cruise lines allow to debark in the middle of the cruise without charging a fine. For example, if the cruise started in Miami and circled the Bahamas or Jamaica and then returned to Miami, I’m not sure if they would allow you to end your cruise on of those islands, stay there til the end of your vacation, and then fly back home. This is where a travel agent would be a good resource to see if this can be done.
You might be able to take a 4-night cruise, return to the originating port, then get on a plane and fly to your next destination, that being maybe an all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Jamaica, or the Bahamas. I could see that as a possibility. The down side is you wouldn’t want to create a "rush-rush, always eyeing the clock, always on the go, preparing for where you need to be next" scenario! You’d want to plan it out carefully, so that there is plenty of time to relax and actually enjoy your vacation.

Once you have some ideas, you may wish to actually call them and consult with a travel counselor. It shouldn’t cost you anything unless you actually book. I’ve booked my last two trips with them, called them on the phone to go over the details. I was very impressed with their prompt, friendly service and professionalism.

Cruises to the Bahamas and to Bermuda tend to stay in one port for a couple of nights each, so you would just use the ship as your hotel and could stay out on land as long as you wanted.
