Where can I find the best deals on short cruises?

Trying to find a 3 day cruise to anywhere, and I want a good cruise line for not very much….Can you help? We can fly anywhere to take the cruise and we need it for May or June or July, even April….Thanks

Well, since your dates are flexible you may be able to find some last minute deals. Problem is that air will be really high if you are close to travel. You could use an online discounter, just be careful to read the fine print and also see if you can find reviews of other peoples experiences, there have been many nightmare stories with those sites. You could also check with some travel agencies as they may have some group discounts still available. But with travel dates being that close the prices are going to be pretty high and most group rates will be sold out. For April you are at the point where the highest rates are being offered right now as you get closer to the date the ship sales, they may offer a really low rate to fill the boat. That is how it work for the other months as well. The best thing to do is to book out as far as possible to get the best rates.

As far as what line. Carnival is going to be the least expensive, but it is probably my least favorite line. There is a lot of partying, drinking, gambling, etc. Most ships could use some refurbishment, etc. Royal Caribbean is going to be the next level up. Prices aren’t that much higher, but you will get a much nicer cruise. For a really nice cruise for a pretty good price I would look for Princess or Disney, but you are going to pay a little more those.

Hope this helps!

The one I’ve used twice is http://www.vacationstogo.com Their site is very comprehensive… make sure you use the "advanced search" option. Happy cruising!! :)

Travel agents get daily emails and faxes from all the cruise lines. A qualified travel agent can not only find you a great cruise but you will likely get personal service. Something the big on line agencies don’t offer. i read an MS-NBC article recently about one of the agencies listed above and how the agency neglected to inform a client about changes to their cruise itinerary. Needless to say the client was not happy and at the end of the article the client and the reporter suggested using a family style travel agency where you are most likely to get the personal attention to detail as well as service.
