Which is better for visiting the Caribbean-a cruise or an all-inclusive resort? If cruise, which cruise line?

Cruise. My family LOVES cruising because there’s no way to get bored being in one place. Also, when you’re on a cruise ship it’s like being on a traveling home. It’s a place to feel safe and secure…and you can visit numerous places in the time that you would only be in one single place on a resort. :]
We do Carnival. Great line.

Neither. You don’t get any culture doing either of those. Try staying at a couple different places. Make sure you get off of the resort and try the local food. Try to get where the tourists are not. Trust me this will be more rewarding.

I agree with Lucas except if you have never been before -then I suggest a cruise so you can get a taste of the ports you visit. Even then I would still not take the boat excursions as they tend to be expensive and touristy.
